Comments for Session

According to those session, I like happiness, language learning, male and female communication, and looking for a job.
For happiness, we had some readings and speaking, and the most important is that we learned how to do critical thinking, and how to do summary for the reseach. It was very useful for our research paper project. The language learning sesstion, we had some listening and reading. According to this session, we knew how to become a good language learner, and how to study the second language. It was really helpful for me. Male and Female is the most interesting session. It is close to our life, all people face this problem. Because I have interest on this topic, I can learn more and fast. Looking for a job is a short session, but I think it is very useful for our future. If people plan to stay here after graduating, they must find a job. We should know how to find a job and how to apply for a job. It is a kind of knowledge and it can affect your success.
For some reasons, I do not like super skyscrapers, and discrimination. I am not interested in these tipic. Super skyscrapers session is not essential in this level, because we are not a engineering student. Also, for discrimination, we just watched a vedio, and I learn nothing through this topic, so I think this topic is not very good.

About Testbook Project

To be honest.. I do not like the topic of the project Because I am not interested in marketing. But, according to this project, I learned a lot.
I think this project is essential for me because I can learn how to do when I am in university. As we know, when we go to the university, we need to read a lot of imformation. If we do not know what is a good way to read and study them, we will in trouble....I learned from lots of my friends, and they had a bad time when they before exam because they needed to read a lot, especially for people who study in business major.
However, the project only occures 5% of final mark, but we write a lot for it. I do not think it is a useful exam, and it is not essential....the exam makes me awful...I think we just need the short answer question, essay question is too much.....also it brings huge work to teacher...
In all, this is a good experience for project, and we can learn something we can use in the future, and I think all of us did our best in the exam!

Feedback of Research Paper

Actually, this was a wonderful experience for research paper, although I had a hard time to write it. When I finished it, I was so proud and satisfied...It was difficult to describe my feeling when I saw my final draft.... It is like my own child.
From beginning, thinking a topic, collecting information, reading them, beginning writing, all these made me hard but also happy. Second draft, third draft...and even final draft made me crazy....grammar mistakes, little format mistake also made me awful...on the other hand, I learned a lot through the research paper. generally, I learned how can I write a research paper, and what is research paper. also, my writing improved a lot. I knew what is the format for a research paper. Before I thought research paper is like our normal writing, but I am wrong. It requires strict format, and each source should reference clearly. I will never forget this experience. I think it is useful for me because when I go to university, lots of research paper need to be written.
When I prepare for presentation of research paper, I had a hard time to choose information. every part connect together, I can not ignore any one of them, but time is limited. finally, I decided to just explain the most important information for each part, and give some examples. I will practice, practice and practice ! I hope tomorrow I can give classmates a great presentation!

Population

Accordiong to the video and reading of population, I learn that population growth create huge problems to our society and our live.
Overpopulation make lack of space. For example, people do not have place to live, and we do not have enough space for argriculture. Moreover, lack of food. limited resourse increase requirement pressure. As a result, in some developing countries, food price will be increased~~~Also, overpopulation create environmental problems, such as, loss of species, soil shrink, and polution. More and more new births order more resourses, and when they grow up, they also require more job....
Aging of population is another huge problem. In some rich countries, the growth of new births are almost zero! Few young people can not support huge retirement! Consequently, economy will derease by not enough young people.
In my opinion, I am not optimistic about the future in term of population. This is so complex question. Sometimes, it depends on individuals. We can control one family only can have 1 or 2 children, but we can not limit each family must have at least 1 child....Also, sometimes, we do not have chiose. Lack of education for women make them do not know how to make choise about their children. I think government should limit their law, and increase education. This issue need whole world connect together to against! Unfortunately, it is difficult to do that because developed countries can not really help developing countries, may be because of "country selfish"

About the lecture

This morning, we had a great lecture about "love" which was given by Judith CDastle. She is a social psychologist. She tried to tell us what is love, and how to describe love.
According to her lecture, love is too big to difine it, but we can learn by different behavior. She introduced 4 types of love. The first one is "Philia" which means friendship. This word come from Greek. and also there are 2 types of friendship: forme heart and temporary. Heart friends do not depend on time and place, and even they are in different place, they will talk a lots when they meet each other. The temporary friend may have some situation with you for a few years, such as classmates, and neighbours.
The second types of love is "Romance". When we fall in love with someone, we get attachment and passion for another. Romance is emotional and it is difficult to control by ourself. We can not choose which person we should fall in love with. It is a kind of crazy love.
The third types of love is "Agape". This love we usually give to strangers. For example, you may help people to open the door, or you can give some penny to poor people...ect. All these things are "Agape"
The last one is "Eros". It is the passion for your own life and it is like your habby. even you fall in love with someone, you also need to keep your interests.
I think this lecture was very interesting, and give me lots of idea about love. Let me know how to love and how to show love. The speaker was very funny and she got me involve in this lecture. I was very enjoy in the lecture.

Family violence!

Unfortunately, I have to chance my research paper topic because only few books in the library and most of them are in process. I can not find enough information both in the library and internet. Therefore, I change my second topic " The Family Violence".
I borrow some books today, so I do not have time to finish it right now, but for this topic, I want to focus on the family violence on children. " why it happened", "different types of violence" such as, physical, mental, and sexual......"family violence on some unique countries", "how to deal with it"~~~
I think this is a very serious topic, I will read book in few days in order to get more information and idea!

About my research paper topic

When teacher told us to think about the research paper topic, I felt confuce and no idea.
Now, I just have two ideas and I want to share with you.
!

First, I am interested in SARS which is a very serious disease and happend in china in 2004. My hometown had huge effects by this disease. We could not have normal life during that period. We could not go to school, and people did not go outside because they were afraid of being infected......Everyone scared. Everyday, several people died by that disease, and the amount of people who were infected increased sharply.....Some of hosipital were isolated and lots of doctors died by disease......I want to research this topic because I am fond of learning how it spread and what kind of disease it is and how to aviod it.....also how it effects our society and whole world.

The second topic which I want to research is family violence. This is a heavy topic but it happened close to our life. Almost all countries have this problem, it happened on children and women. It has negative effects on victims especially children. Some of them may had violent personalities when they were young, and some of them may die.....In fact, not all victims know how to protect themself, and they have no choice with family violence. They need help.....

For this topic, I really want to know some different cases and how serious this problem.... I also want everyone can focus on this problem.....It is not a small problem, and it may happened beside you!

Presentation of Novel

Friday, we did presentation by different groups. According to this presentation, I learned some inportant things from my classmates.
First, I think people who give the presentation should be confident. When people are confident, they can do something better. Also, she or he should be relax and speak loudly. For the audience, speaking loudly is very important because if they can not hear clearly, they will lose interests about the presentation.
Second, speakers should organize their presentation. Good organization can make audience easily to understand the idea. In addition, when speakers talk, try to use some connection words.
Last but not least, practice!!! Practice makes perfect! Before giving the presentation, practice and time youself.
I think, if you can do all these, you can become a good speaker.

Male and Female Communication Patterns!

I think there is big difference between male and female communication patterns because we are different animals.....Female are more emotional but male are different!!!

Women always want to talk all their experiences to others, however, for men, they do not want to talk sometimes such as when they focus on something or even they are in trouble maybe because of their self-pride.

Also, for women , communication is one of interests. They like talking, even some small things. I think, more women have talent of talking than men. They want to share their joy and sadness. We always can see some women talking together with laughing.....Maybe talking is one of way to make their happy~~~~For me, I like talking also. My mom always think I talk to much everyday, and she is so confuse why I can talk that much. I think maybe because of my personality......but I believe talking make me relax and happy. When I am in trouble or sad, I want to talk to my friend , and even she can not help me, I will feel better.

For men, because they always think they should be a hero or be strong, they can not talk to others about their trouble or sadness.....My father is a good example....He has no sentence for me....but I know he is so emotional and he just do not how to explain by himself....

This is a very complex question, I consider it depends on personality~~~

About my book " The Monday Mourning"

Actually, I do not like my book when I was finishing it.......because of the ending.....I felt so sad and dark.....but it is still interesting. Now, let me tell you the story....

The bones of three young women were found in the basement of a Montreal pizza parlor. Police tried to investigate the murder. Dr Brennan is a forensic anthropologist. She was responsible for checking three skeletons in order to make sure their identities. During their investigating, they met a lot of puzzles, such as they had difficulties to make sure victims` sand names. After several tests, they finally found the murder who was a man came from California. Unfortrunately, he had already died before they found him......They found two survivals who were two girls...One girl damaged seriously......the other was fine. whatever, the girl who was fine was the ture murder because she was hurt by that man and she became montally ill and wanted to hurt everyone. Unbelievablely, there were 5 girls who were catched by that man, and they all had serious mental ill, especially that girl. They had been imprisoned for a long time, and the man who catched them threatened the girls and hurt their body and mental.....

That is the general idea of my book....In my opinion, I do not like this story.....

To be a good language learner

To be honest, I am not a good language learner for several reasons...... I am not very interested in English, my English teacher are always awful and terrible except one, and also the learning way is so weak.

Therefore, I hope others do not follow me~~~ now let me introduce some good ways to study second language.

First, if you can, learn second language as young as possible. It is beneficial for your leanrning because you do not feel shy to make mistakes. In addition, you can learn in a natural way and not just memorize. That is why some young people always learn second language very fast and even they can learn both English and French together.

Second, communication! This is a super crucial points. If you want to learn second language fast, just do it. When you learn language, you have to talk with someone, even you learn your first language. Also, our purpose of learning language is communicating each other~~~I think this is a essential way to learn language.

Last but not least, you do not need to be intelligent and smart, but you had better have good imagination and confidence. When you learn something, you will easy to succeed by confidence. Also, imagination can help you to learn new language fater than others.

In my opinion, learning language is not easy thing. However, practice makes success. Just practice! practice! practice!!! You will got it!

Are skyscrapers good or not

In my opinion, building skyscrapers is a good thing for some cities which have over population and pollution problems. Although skyscrapers require huge money and steel, they also bring some benefits.
First, skyscraper which are new design can solve lack of land. They can provide more space for people to live, work, and relax. Many cities have skyscraper such as NewYork, Beijing, and Tokyo. Most of these cities have common problem: lack of land. For example, in Tokyo, they plan to build the sky city to replace all building. All people live in the skycity which has school, working place, medicine center, entertainment and so on. This is a excellent idea to design our city.
Second, skyscrapers can reduce pollution. On one hand, skyscraper can save land to build trees, parks, and greenlines that work for refreshing air. On the other hand, some skyscraper have unique design to reduce pollution. For instance, green building use at least 35% less energy. The building act as a giant air filter, and it can suck in dirty air from city, clean it up, and send it out cleaner.
Last but not least, skyscrapers are financial and national symbol of cities. In the other word, city which have the highest skyscraper expresses its status. Also, some cities are famous by their tallest building.
For those reasons, I consider that skyscrapers have more positive effects in the future.
